From 22 to 25 April, WTC Leeuwarden will host the 49th Annual World Trade Centers Association (WTCA) General Assembly (GA). The event has been held in Dubai, Mumbai, Beijing, Barcelona, Manilla and Las Vegas in years past. The last time the GA was held in the Netherlands was 36 years ago.
The event gives Dutch companies the chance to get in touch with companies and organisations from more than 30 different countries in one day and increase their network.
The main focus is on Monday, 23 April: International Trade Day. Over 75 international companies, 250 World Trade Center representatives and around 100 Dutch companies are expected to attend. International Trade Day will include matchmaking, an intense workshop program, an information market and keynote speakers on the topics of food, water, energy and health.
Evert Jan Schouwstra, Managing Director of World Trade Center Leeuwarden, is very proud that they won the bid to organise this event. “It’s a unique opportunity for our region to present itself. Now, over 750,000 companies worldwide know our region. That’s valuable. The event is not only interesting for exporters and importers, but also for investments. We like to present ourselves as the entrance to the European market,” according to Schouwstra.
