In a car park outside a sports centre in Emmen, a 16-year-old girl was rescued from her 18-year-old ex-boyfriend who had reportedly struck her, cursed at her and threatened her.
Emmen.nu reports that members of the women’s volleyball team Side Out 1 from Slagharen in Overijssel intervened to protect the girl. They had just won their match against Emmen ’95 and were heading home when they saw a girl in the car park was in trouble.
The team members helped the girl get away from the aggressive young man and made sure she made it back to her family. The team also filed a police report about the incident.
