The soundtrack to the video is really all you need
Is it a wolf? Or a dog? A video of an animal crossing the road between Blijham and Bellingwolde, in the eastern part of the province of Groningen, was posted on the Facebook page of Boeren Onder Elkaar.
The images were taken with a mobile phone. The province of Groningen will use the images to conduct research. The big question is of course whether it is really a wolf.
It would then be the second time that a wolf has been spotted in Groningen. In 2015 a wolf was already roaming around Hoogezand and the surrounding area, reports the GIC.
The wolf’s return is due to successful nature management. Owners of sheep or other small livestock in particular are displeased with the return of the predator. However, the Province is working on a compensation fund. They are also considering subsidy schemes for fences of pasture land for sheep or small livestock.
