It’s finally Friday and the weekend is right around the corner. Here & Now Groningen and Leeuwarden/ Friesland has some tips to make this week more enjoyable by doing something different and fun.
Terug naar het begin x City Central: Province Tour
Starting from Gronigen you will have the opportunity to explore the province during a different tour. In case you didn’t know the province of Groningen has the highest rating for culture in the whole Netherlands. And has the highest density of medieval churches in Europe. To become more familiar with the beauty Groningen has to offer the City Central and local festival ‘Terug naar het begin’ decided to join forces to give you a wonderful day out in the province.
Explore the landscape, the rich history and contemporary culture of Groningen as part of our guided tour of the festival. Our local English-speaking guide will take us on a cycling route through several locations and performances of the festival, and tell us about the landscape, architecture, and history of the region along the way. On the way, we will stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic location!
Temple x Harmony Rec.
If you prefer something more melodic and energetic then you can’t miss this techno party. Since 2018, Here & Now have made an effort to bring a new, fresh wind of ever-expanding musical gatherings to the city of Groningen. This time they decided to partner up with some good friends from Prague-based label Harmony Rec.
The label started organizing events in 2014 and has become notorious in Prague’s techno scene ever since. With their vibrant sound dominated by dub- and atmospheric techno they are guaranteed to complement the vision Temple has been aiming for since the beginning. This event will be this seasons’ grand finale after which the temple will open again in autumn.
The event will be hosted at the Graanfabriek (former Paradigm) the perfect setting for a night full of memories and a glance into the future.
Prinsentuin Concerts & Fries Street Festival (Prinsentuinconcerten & Fries StraatFestival)
If you live in Leeuwarden you can’t miss the Prinsentuin concerts, which will start with a series of live concerts in the Prinsentuin music dome. On 26 May, as an extension of the street festival, two bands are on the program, selected by music programmer Titus Van ‘t Veer.
Come along and enjoy in the most beautiful garden of Leeuwarden!
