“We Will Rock You”, a musical based on the song catalog of the legendary British rock band Queen will have a six-show residency at MartiniPlaza in Groningen in January.

Translation by Traci White

The Groninger Internet Courant reports that the musical will be performed between 15 and 19 January 2020 at the Groningen theatre. The show is a futuristic adventure based on 24 of Queen’s greatest hits.

The show, which was written by Ben Elton, originally premiered in the West End in London in 2002 and has since then been performed in 28 countries, drawing in audiences of more than 20 million.

The English-language musical incorporates dozens of Queen’s biggest songs, and the Groningen production will feature Tia Architto, a South African music star, in the lead role as the Killer Queen. In other production, American singer Anastacia has played the queen.

Tickets for the show are on sale now through MartiniPlaza and range from 55.45 euros to 85.45.
