Real estate analysts Calcasa report that house prices in Groningen are up 11.6 percent in just the last quarter alone
In the municipality of Groningen, the average price for a house rose by 11.6 percent last quarter. This makes the city the fastest climber in the country. “Groningen is the new Amsterdam of the housing market”, says Calcasa, which analyses real estate prices.
Groningen is not only a leader in terms of cities, prices are also rising the fastest of all provinces. In the province, prices increased by 11.3 percent from the year before. Single-family homes in particular are gaining in value in the province, reports the GIC.
According to the researchers, prices outside the Randstad are rising faster than the prices of homes in the Randstad. In addition, more and more people are choosing to live in a non-Randstad province, with Groningen standing out as a top destination.
