Dagblad van het Noorden reports that this will be the first time that Morrison, who is 73, has performed at the festival, which has been held in Drenthe since 2016. Morrison performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam in 2017.

According to RTV Drenthe, other big international names will also be on the line up, including American acts ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jonny Lang and Danielle Nicole, and French trio Delgres.

This year’s edition of the festival will be held on the 14th and 15th of June in Grolloo, which is a village with 700 residents. One of the festival’s organisers is Johan Derksen, a Dutch sports journalist and former professional footballer who is from Drenthe.
