Police launched an extensive search overnight around the Kleine and Grote Rietplas areas in Emmen for a missing 19-year-old man, whom authorities have classified as a high-priority case. According to local broadcaster RTV Drenthe, dozens of officers, assisted by police dogs and a helicopter, scoured the forested areas and surrounding neighborhoods in an effort to locate him.
Despite the large-scale operation, the young man remains missing. The police helicopter, which flew low over the Rietlanden and Parc Sandur neighborhoods, woke numerous residents, many of whom joined in the search. However, after hours of searching, police scaled back the effort around 2:30 a.m. without success.
The missing man is described as 163 cm tall with a fair complexion, dark eyes, and medium-length black hair. He has a stocky build, a beard, and a mustache, and was last seen wearing a black jacket. He is believed to have left on foot.
A public alert was issued through Burgernet, asking residents to remain vigilant and contact police with any sightings or information regarding the man’s whereabouts.
