The University of Groningen (RUG) is steadily rising within various international rankings. The development is sure to please the university, as a place in the top hundred of such rankings is likely to provide extra prestige, extra students and ultimately therefore, extra income.
The University of Groningen will be in place 73 in the next Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings. This is six places higher than last year, when the University was placed in the 79th spot. This is the highest position so far in the Times Higher Education for the University of Groningen.
The RUG is ranked in the top 100 along with six other Dutch universities this year. The Universities of Amsterdam, Leiden, Utrecht; Wageningen, Delft Institute of Technology, and Erasmus University Rotterdam are also in the top-100, with Amsterdam placed the highest, at 59. This is the highest position so far in the Times Higher Education for the University of Groningen.
In August it was already announced that the RUG had climbed 1 place to 65 in the Shanghai Ranking (ARWU). In the QS rankings for 2019, the RUG is at position 115.
