In addition to an academic title, a student pass and his own museum exhibit, University Cat Doerak has received yet another honour: his very own snowman.

“I tried to make @universitycat Doerak out of snow but I didn’t quite capture his fluffiness I’m afraid…”, user @damnmydooah wrote. The Groninger Internet Courant reports that University Cat Instagram account, which has more than 7,000 followers, shared the photo of the cuddly university mascot rendered in snow with twigs for whiskers and leaves for ears.
Over the winter break, the University Museum hosted an exhibit about the history of cats at the university and other honorary feline mascots adopted by universities around the world. Doerak, who has been dubbed University Cat by the students and staff at the Harmonie complex, was also jokingly given his own student pass last fall and the honorific title of professor.
Doerak himself may be staying indoors due to freezing temperatures, but for anyone looking for a selfie with his snowy likeness, the Doerak snow cat is located near the bike parking area between De Laan and the main Harmonie building.
