Unemployment continues to decline in Friesland. According to the most recent figures from the Dutch unemployment agency UWV, there were 14,000 people in Friesland receiving unemployment benefits in Friesland in February.
Omrop Fryslân reports that is roughly 4 percent of the total working age population of the province. Most of the new jobs are in the healthcare sector. There are 25 percent fewer unemployment benefits recipients in 2018 compared to the same period in 2017.
