Just because you don’t feel ill, doesn’t mean you aren’t contagious
Many younger people that have tested positive for the Coronavirus have a large amount of the virus in their breath, even if they don’t feel ill, says UMCG virologist Bert Niesters.
If these people don’t quarantine after a test, they can become potential super spreaders, adds Niesters. As reported by RTV Noord.
Other virologists across the Netherlands also insist that it is important for infected patients to adhere to home quarantine, even if they do not feel ill themselves, they say.
At the beginning of the pandemic in March, elderly people in particular were seen to have a high viral load, but they stayed in hospitals, nursing homes or at home, and were therefore less of a source of infection.
