The clinic will be a temporary, and is intended to help people whilst keeping sufferers separate
The University Medical Center in Groningen (UMCG) will open a Corona virus outpatient clinic on Thursday. It will be a temporary department for patients who have respiratory complaints, and who have an appointment at one of the other outpatient clinics of the hospital. As reported by GIC.nl
The corona outpatient clinic is for people who are already patients of the UMCG. Patients must report here if they meet three conditions: postponement of treatment is not possible for medical reasons, a telephone appointment is not possible and a GP cannot take over.
The hospital itself will contact these patients. UMCG employees will ask whether they have complaints related to the Corona virus. If so, the hospital will make an appointment at the corona outpatient clinic, where research on the patient suffering from the Corona virus is first done.
The new outpatient clinic will be separated from other outpatient clinics and nursing wards and will have a separate entrance. The hospital is doing this to prevent the virus spreading in the UMCG.
