Two men were mortally wounded at the Douna Machinery facilities on the Hidalgoweg in Leeuwarden on Thursday.
One of the victims died at the scene. The second victim passed away after being transported to the hospital. The Social Affairs and Employment Inspectorate told the Leeuwarder Courant that the men were struck by a cylinder from a press which either snapped or sprung out of place.
An investigation into the exact cause of the accident is ongoing. A spokesperson says that the results may not be known for months to come. According to their website, Douna Machinery builds various kinds of machines and devices for different industries.
The Leeuwarder Courant reports that there have been seven deaths due to industrial accidents in Friesland since January 2016.
