The police in Groningen detained two men for climbing the under construction Groninger Forum early on Saturday morning.

According to the Groninger Internet Courant, the Groningen police took the two men into custody after they scaled the building in the centre of the city. The men also sprayed the contents of a fire extinguisher on one of the top floors of the building, which is still under construction.
Agent Jacob Kobes tweeted over the weekend that the two men had been taken into custody for their unauthorised urban climb. One suspect is a 20-year-old man from the city of Groningen, and the other suspect is a 20-year-old from the Groningen provincial town of Ten Boer.
The men told the police that they climbed the building because they wanted to enjoy the view. It is not clear why they decided to deploy the fire extinguisher. The Forum climbers were fined and sent home.
