Two men have been detained on weapons charges after Emmen police were alerted to threats of violence against a resident of Emmen. Officers from local police precinct were called to the city’s De Dillen neighborhood just before 6.30pm yesterday following reports of men armed with weapons.
When the cops arrived at the scene, the two men had already fled, the Dagblad van het Noorden reports. The suspects, aged 21 and 24, from Rotterdam, were apprehended after they had attempted to escape the police car chase. They were taken into custody and are being interrogated.
The suspects’ motives for threatening the Emmen man are still unclear.
