The fire department in Assen responded to two burning cars overnight in the city.
The locations of where the vehicles were set on fire between Monday night and Tuesday morning were about a kilometre and a half away from each other.
Dagblad van het Noorden reports that one vehicle was completely destroyed in a blaze on the Marconistraat, and later the same night, another car was seriously damaged by a fire on the Klenckestraat. A residence and shed were also damaged in the Klenckestraat fire.
The police are still investigating the two incidents.
