The GGD has suggested that the outbreak is stabilising
For the third day in a row, one person in the province of Groningen tested positive for the Coronavirus, meaning that the total number of infections is now 362. Seventeen patients from Groningen have died of the virus.
According to the GGD, the number of infections is changing very little in relative terms, which also indicates that the outbreak in Groningen seems to be stabilising. There has only been a total of eight more confirmed cases in the last two weeks, reports the GIC.
Figures from the GGD, which were published on Wednesday, showed that approximately 190 infected Groningen residents are employed in healthcare. All residents with any symptoms or health complaints have been able to get themselves tested for the virus since 1 June. From 1 to 9 June, 1,522 people were tested for the virus at the UMCG, with two people (0.1%) found to be positive.
