The biggest racing event of the year in Drenthe, the Dutch TT (Tourist Trophy) at the Circuit in Assen attracts the best Grand Prix motorcycle racers in the world, as well as thousands of spectators, every summer.
MotoGP riders like Valentino Rossi, Marc Marquez and Maverick Vinales will be going full throttle on the track, and event attendees can also watch the Moto2 and Moto3 class races. The main race will be held on Sunday, and qualification races will take place on Friday and Saturday. Tickets are still available for each day and the full weekend.
RTV Drenthe reports that this year’s event is once again expected to draw crowds of thousands to Assen. The local police already had their hands full on Thursday night: a number of skirmishes resulting from public drunkenness were reported, and several people reportedly attempted to climb over the fence at the deer park Hertenkamp. Several windows were also smashed across the city.
