From Wednesday 13 January to Saturday 17 January Europe’s best up-and-coming music acts will perform in Groningen (without an audience)
Music fans from all over Europe usually flood the city of Groningen at this time of the year for ESNS; a combined music festival and music industry conference. Eurosonic Noorderslag previously filled the city with pop-up stages and soundsystems, however this year will take place entirely online.
On the ESNS website, music fans can curate their own programme. Perhaps one advantage of this year’s online setup is that you can flit from one performance to the other (try getting from the Oosterpoort to the Nieuwe Kerk on a Friday night in under 5 minutes). Of the artists and bands that are playing, the ESNS team recommend Son Mieux (NL), Jelani Blackman (GB), Slift (FR); and Lous and the Yakuza (BE).
