This is not a typical Dutch sport yet, but considering the popularity of football and the abundance of sheep in the country, Katie the sheep from Drenthe has all chances to become a trendsetter for cattle in the Netherlands.
As filmed by RTV Noord, a homegrown sheep has already mastered the ‘pass’ and played a match with three schoolchildren. Lukas, Morres and Yaron so far have managed to defend the gates in their garden.
In case of scoring a goal, Katie can consider joining a football club in Colombia. In 2014, two teams of sheep played a match wearing team t-shirts representing Colombia and Brazil before the start of the football World Cup in Brazil.
Otherwise, Katie can play with another fluffy football-lover from the province of Groningen. According to comments under the video on social media, the sheep was invited to play football with a dog from 7 pm to 7:30 pm.
