Translated by Adriana Dancu
Forum Groningen has been organizing a satellite edition of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) for years. This year, Groningen and Rotterdam will be celebrating IFFR’s 25th anniversary, however, the anniversary edition takes place completely online, reports GIC.
IFFR in Groningen is the perfect opportunity to explore unknown, international gems or to discover the major titles of the coming film year. Due to the restrictions as a result of the Coronavirus measures, the festival is forced to take place online this time. From 1 to 7 February, IFFR in Groningen will present eight so-called Limelight titles on demand. These titles can be found here.
The film festival’s Limelight selection includes the titles of major directors who will premiere in the upcoming film year. Film visitors will, therefore, receive a preview of the long-awaited titles of 2021.
Online edition
Forum Groningen presents eight IFFR titles on demand. The films can be viewed for 72 hours in the period from 1 to 7 February. The Forum also shows a number of festival hits from last year in its online room Picl. And of course, there are introductions, talk shows, and special conversations that can be attended online. The ticket sales for the online screenings have started.
You can also physically watch IFFR films in Groningen this year. That part of the festival has been postponed to June 3-6.
