The first Groningen Terrassen Festival was scheduled to kick off on Wednesday the 29th of May, but due to bad weather in the forecast, festival organisers have decided to reschedule the five-day event to the 12th of June.

Translation by Traci White

According to Dagblad van het Noorden, the inaugural edition of the event in the Stadspark has been moved from Ascension weekend to mid-June due to cold temperatures and rain in the forecast.

The event, which is being put on by Amsterdam-based event organisers 4PMEntertainment, is all about being outdoors and lingering on a massive terrace, and the unpredictable weather prompted them to bump the event a couple of weeks later in the calendar.

Groningen restaurants Flinders, El Santo, The Foodspot, De Soepwinkel, Javaans Eetcafe and Blokes will be on hand serving up food and drinks during the five-day-long festival, along with DJs, a silent disco, boules and karaoke.
