The sixteenth edition of Founder Talks, a series of presentations by local business entrepreneurs and innovators, will take place on the 21st of June. This time around the talks will be based on international growth and will be presented by Len Boot, owner of locally based packaging company NNZ, and JC Heyneke, CEO of tech company Slimmer AI.
“This time around we will focus on international growth. We will be looking at some questions like what were some obstacles that came across their path, what were the decisions JC and Len had to make and what is their advice for the audience,” says Lusanne Tehupuring, Private Lead and representative of Founded in Groningen, the organization behind the Founder Talks.
Founded in Groningen is an organization dedicated to putting local business owners and entrepreneurs in the spotlight. In addition to hosting the Founder Talks, the organization is helping build a regional network for budding entrepreneurs looking for new talent, connections, and investment opportunities.
“I think startups and scale-ups based in Groningen sometimes can think a bit more global and shouldn’t be shy to promote their success. There are so many startups doing a great job and it is important to think global from day one. It’s maybe a cultural thing. The Groningen Mentality of ‘Kon Minder’ (could be worse) sometimes also holds us back,” continues Tehupuring, who feels that the greatest advantage of the Founder Talks is their ability to inspire other up-and-coming innovators and entrepreneurs.
According to Tehupuring, one of Groningen’s greatest advantages for new start-ups is that local founders and organizations are always willing to help one another; an attitude that Founded in Groningen hopes to build upon.
