The full line up for the 24th edition of the Swingin’ Groningen festival, which will take place between 21 and 23 June, has been officially confirmed.

The festival, whose first edition was held in 1988, showcases funk and soul acts on four stages across the city at the Poeleplein, the Waagplein, the Ellebogen and the Zuiderdiep.
Up-and-coming groups will have their moment in the spotlight as part of the Talent Stage acts, namely Groningen blues band Maaris, the Floriana Foti Quartet, the Prins Calus Conservatorium Big Band and Groningen pop act Small Town Bandits.
The Groninger Internet Courant writes that the festivities will actually get underway on 20 June at Buckshot café on the Gedempte Zuiderdiep during the Swingin’ Groningen Local Pre Round. On the night before the festival, students from the Prins Claus Conservatory will compete for a spot against four other conservatory acts from across Europe at the Northern European Jazz Talent Contest on Thursday, 21 June at NewsCafé.
Several shops across the city will also serve as stages from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. as part of the festival: Van Der Velde bookstore (A-kerkhof and Grote Markt), Schuurman Schoenen (Vismarkt), Muts Fashion (Brugstraat), Dstrezzed (Zwanestraat) and Taveerne Rabenhaupt (Gedempte Zuiderdiep).
