No, you do not need 48 rolls of toilet paper
On Monday mornings, many thousands of trucks are on the way across the country to restock supermarkets. However, the supermarket industry is calling on everyone to buy only the groceries that you normally buy every day.
The Central Bureau of Food Trade (CBL) has announced that there are still sufficient stocks of food and hygiene products. Hoarding is therefore not necessary. As reported by the GIC.
During the past weekend, hoarding took place almost daily. Long-life products such as pasta, soups and rice were particularly popular. A run on toilet paper started.
The empty shelves suggested that there is no stock, but according to the CBL that is absolutely not the case. Empty shelves were caused by a transport problem; so thousands of extra trucks have now been deployed and additional store fillers will be used in many shops to fill the shelves.
The CBL hopes that at the end of the day it will not immediately have transport problems again. “Only buy what you need!”
