Naturally, the video is in Dutch
The Coronavirus outbreak has, naturally, thrown a spanner in the works for student recruitment. For example, there is to be no KEI week this year, as many new students may have been expecting. The introduction week will largely take place online this year and the focus will mainly be on the informative purpose of the KEI week. As reported by the GIC.
But, as the flashily-produced video says, “you can find fun in the city of Groningen among the many student associations and become active in sports, culture or politics. Groningen has too many beautiful associations and everyone should know what a great student time you can have if you become active.”
As reported by The Northern Times last week, significant numbers of International students feel uneasy living in Groningen, in part due to the exclusive nature of many student organisations, which were felt by students in a survey to be discriminatory on the basis of language.
“Welcome to this beautiful city of Groningen and welcome to the vibrant student life that we have here. Come and see where you can find the fun or your passion and join one of the many associations! ”, say the various student organisations in the video.
The student organisations and associations that are endorsing the initiative are: Groninger Studentenbond, ESN Groningen, A.S.V Dizkartes, Cleopatra A.S.G., F.F.J. Bernlef, G.S.C. Vindicat atque Polit, GSV, N.S.G., R.S.K.V Albertus Magnus, Unitas S.G., Usva, ACLO and Kei week 2020.
