Stabbing Van Houtenlaan: “Police looking for two Americans in black car”

The police have received about fifty tips about the stabbing in the Van Houtenlaan in Groningen. Those tips may also have been a reason to start research on a houseboat on the Winschoterdiep on Friday. No arrests were made. However, according to the Dagblad van het Noorden, the police are looking for two Americans in a black car.

On Wednesday evening, a police officer was seriously injured after checking two youngsters because of the curfew. The officer was stabbed in the face several times. The injuries were life-threatening, but at this moment the cop’s situation is no longer life-threatening.

According to the Dagblad van het Noorden, the police are now looking for two American men who would be involved in the stabbing. Those men would have rented a part of the houseboat through Airbnb. The men would have left in a black car on Thursday evening. According to the Dagblad, it is not clear what the men in the Netherlands do. The police would know the identities of the men.

The police can only confirm that an investigation is being carried out on the houseboat and that no one has been arrested. They do not want to comment on the news of the Dagblad van het Noorden.

On Thursday evening the police published images of two men who meet the description. The men in the images were filmed cycling along a sidewalk on De Savornin Lohmanlaan, near Beethovenlaan. This is near the crime scene.
