Generally stupid
The SSH housing federation, which provides sub-standard housing for most new International students in Groningen will bring in security at its Winschoterdiep building following a huge party held by students last weekend. As reported by the GIC.
According to a report in the Universiteitskrant newspaper, the party caused so much noise on Friday night that various neighbours reported it to the police. The police eventually shut down the party at 02:00. The party was the second that week, with another one on Tuesday drawing local residents’ ire. Apparently 50 people came to the gathering on Friday, which is completely irresponsible considering the current Dutch government’s Coronavirus regulations- and the infectious disease now spreading amongst the younger population in the Netherlands.
“These kinds of parties and gatherings are completely unacceptable,” SSH told the tenants. They are warned that if another party takes place, there will be ‘dire consequences’. Security has been set up to prevent students from organising other parties.
