Thomas van Zeewijk Vink was reportedly attending a Christmas drinks event with his colleagues when he told them he was going to get some fresh air. What happened after that remains unknown.
Yesterday evening, Dagblad van het Noorden reported that one person believes they saw van Zeewijk Vink near the city beach at around 1:20. They have since contacted the police with their information.
Police say van Zeewijk Vink is 25 years old and has short, dark blond hair. He also has grey-blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he may have been wearing dark clothing and white Reebok shoes. It seems he didn’t have a jacket with him. Police are asking local residents on the route from the Kattenhage to the Eerste Hunzestraat in Groningen (and the area around it) to view images from their dashcams or doorbell camera from midnight onwards in case their footage could be of assistance.
Police are urging all those with information about the case to contact them on 0800-6070. Those calling from outside the Netherlands should dial +31793459876.
