The Faculty Board has spoken out after students were stopped from going to the toilet during both online and in-person exams
The board of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) is unhappy with the fact that students are not allowed to go to the toilet during an exam, reports university paper the UKrant. Other faculties also prohibit students from relieving themselves during (online) exams.
“That has to change”, says the faculty board. The FEB is one of the few faculties that does not allow students to go to the toilet during exams, bot online and in an examination halls. Only students with a medical condition are allowed to leave the room, and even then under supervision.
The Faculty Board thought this was common throughout the university, but after the issue was brought to the attention of the University Council, it has now submitted a request to the Examination Board to amend the rules.
If that request is granted, students may from now on leave the examination hall for a toilet visit. During online exams, they are then allowed to go out of sight of the camera after they have requested permission from the invigilator.
