There will be no trains between Groningen and Assen this weekend. But fear not! Both NS and Arriva will be making sure that there are shuttle buses for travellers. As reported by the Groninger Internet Courant.
Saturday 22 February and Sunday 23 February, due to work, no trains will run between Groningen-Assen. On Sunday 23 February no trains will run between Groningen-Veendam / Winschoten / Weener. Rail replacement buses will be in use.
Preparatory work is being carried out on 22 and 23 February on the construction of an extra track between Groningen station and the new dockyard at De Vork in Haren. Among other things, necessary materials will be placed next to the track, overhead lines will be adapted and foundations for cabinets and technical installations will be placed.
The work is taking place between Groningen Europapark station and De Vork in Haren. The work is part of the Groningen Rail Zone project.
