All RUG buildings will close at 18:00: with exceptions including long-term experiments, exams, and practicals
Whilst the new nationwide curfew comes into effect each evening at 21:00, the RUG has decided to close most of its buildings earlier, reports the UKrant. Evening exams are to be re-scheduled.
The Executive Board of the University of Groningen has decided the move, now that a curfew will apply up until Wednesday 10 February from 21:00 to 04:30.
All university buildings are to close at 18:00, except where there are long-term experiments, exams and practicals (these can end two hours later). The bottom line, according to the Executive Board, is that all physical educational activities are to stop at 19:00. “We ask everyone to take into account the travel time to and from home”, reports the Ukrant.
Physical exams
Although the Dutch cabinet wants to make an exception for students that have a physical exam in the evening, the RUG has decided to cancel these, and move them it to a different time. “We want to contribute to reducing the number of infections”, says the University.
