After the University Library (UB) and the Academy building, now the Heymans building in the Rode Kruisstraat and the administration building in the Muurstraat were defaced with pro-Palestine slogans and red paint last Sunday.
Besides the Heymans building having red paint splatters and “free Palestine” on the windows, some windows of the administration building have been smashed as well.
Workers were seen on Monday morning removing the graffiti with a pressure washer.
The RUG has filed a report with the police.
The facade of the University of Groningen’s Academy Building was defaced with pro-Palestine slogans back in April. In May, a Pro-Palestine encampment was set up in front of the RUG’s Harmony building where it still stands today.
Earlier today, Reuters reported that Hamas said it accepts a U.N. resolution backing a plan to end the war with Israel in Gaza and is ready to negotiate details in what the U.S. Secretary of State called “a hopeful sign”.
