Local residents have provided more than 150 face masks
Residents of the province of Drenthe have responded to a call to donate face masks and disinfectant to a General Practitioner (Family Doctor) in Roden.
“You too can do something to help fight the Corona virus.”, GP Stijn Bodde from Roden wrote on his Facebook page last week. It was an appeal that was supported by several other GPs, reports RTV Drenthe.
It appeared last week that GPs did not have enough materials to protect themselves and others against the ongoing Coronavirus epidemic. Residents were asked to return any mouth masks and disinfectant gel to their Doctor, if they do not need them. The call met by a huge local effort.
The table of GP Jan Hut of Medical Center Peize stood full. Face masks, disinfectants and more- unlike last week. “I am very happy,” said Hut. General practitioner Stijn Bodde from the Groen practice is also happy with what has been done so far. “We got one hundred and sixty masks!”
If there is a surplus of medical supplies, the GPs will take them to local hospitals.
