The 32nd edition of the largest running event in the Northern Netherlands will take place on 14 October – up to 23,000 runners can take part in the race. People with an insurance policy through Menzis can sign up a week early starting at 5 p.m. on 17 May.
The 4 Mijl consists of several separate events: a Recreational Route, a Competitive Route, the Chiquita Youth Route (powered by GasTerra) for schools, and a Charity Run.
The 8th edition of the Menzis 4Mijl4You powered by GasTerra will take place on 13 October, the night before the 4 Mijl. The participants will follow the same route, but they can compete on skates, in a wheelchair, with a pram or any other alternative from running.
The event chooses a different charitable cause each year, and the 2018 edition will raise money for the UMCG Transplant Centre. The funds will be used to create a training programme for patients who have undergone an organ transplant.
