After a period of suspense during the summer, Temple Groningen will open its doors again on Friday 20th for all new-comers and of course, the supporters that’ve been attending their unique techno events since they started last year.
From open-air parties to underground raves, Temple Groningen does it all. So, what can we expect from Temple Groningen this season?
This season
Next weekend, Temple’s Season opening will be one of the first parties hosted at the brand-new location, ‘The Loods’. As with every edition of Temple, the atmosphere will be open and a place for friends, and friends of friends, to reunite and enjoy an evening of dancing and connecting. Temple is for everyone – students new to the city are encouraged to come, even if they don’t know many people yet. ‘’The thing with Temple is that even if you’re completely new, you’ll feel the vibe. It feels like family,’’ comments Tomas Bim, one of the founders of Temple Groningen. The music will be diverse, with each guest playing their own preferred styles of techno.
‘’We want to give people the space to show what they can do’’
Opening up doors for artists
Temple also aims to give local DJ’s and artists a chance to showcase their talent. ‘’We plan to start music podcasts every month featuring local DJ’s here in Groningen,’’ reveals David Zubrycky, DJ and co-founder of Temple. Additionally, the Temple team work with students from Minerva Academy to create a unique setting that encompasses the passion from not only the founders, but other students here in Groningen, for example, through audiovisuals. ‘’We use Temple as a platform to showcase art, too. We are really open to work with local art students who want to contribute. We want to give people the space to show what they can do,’’ expresses Tomas.
Tickets are available at the door and are free until 23:00 and afterwards can be bought for 5 euros. For more information about the event, check out ‘’Temple Season Opening’’ on Facebook.
