The PvdA (Labour Party) city faction is calling for businesses to place solar panels on their rooves.
Last week, RTV Drenthe reported that according to TenneT and Enexis, the number of solar panels being built in the northern Drenthe towns of Gasselte, Stadskanaal and Musselkanaal could cause electricity capacity problems.
The PvdA faction now says that local businesses installing solar panels on their rooftops could offer a solution to the problem. Generating electricity closer to the place that it will ultimately be used should decrease the burden on the network.
