The number of confirmed cases has risen by 52 in a week- well below the Dutch national average
In a week, 52 people were added in the province of Groningen who have been tested positive for the Corona virus, according to figures from the GGD Groningen. In total, the virus has now been detected in 207 Groningers, and unfortunately, five of them have died, reports the GIC.
Of the 207 people diagnosed with the virus, 110 work in healthcare. However, the actual number of infections in Groningen is likely to be higher because not all residents that have complaints are tested, and some sufferers may not be symptomatic, the GGD says..
Over 660 health workers were tested in the past three weeks. Health care workers who have been tested positive are advised to stay at home. According to the GGD, the risk of infection within the healthcare institutions is controlled as well as possible.
