You can follow the ceremonial lighting via live-stream
The largest Christmas bauble in the world (probably), at DOT Groningen, will be lit on Sunday 6 December at 17:00: with the illumination live-streamed via the DOT Facebook page.
According to the DOT, it took weeks to get the lights installed and working. The giant “Christmas bauble hook” on top of the dome was also a tricky instillation. In total, the bauble will have 6,000 LED lights, reports the GIC.
The dome has a diameter of 26 meters and a height of 19 meters, making it likely the largest Christmas bauble in the world. The lights are to be turned on under the guidance of the gospel choir G-Roots.
