One case has been detected in Beijum, another in Stadskanaal
One of the students in a primary school Beijumkorf in Beijum has had a positive Coronavirus test, reports the school organisation O2G2. The student is to quarantine at home for two weeks. Yesterday, a further infection was also found at a student of a primary school in Stadskanaal, in the eastern part of the province of Groningen.
A contact investigation is now being conducted to see who the child has been in contact with. All students can still go to school, and there are no additional measures. However, parents must be extra alert to health, hygiene and any complaints, gic.nl reports.
All parents of students at the Beijumkorf school have been informed. Parents of classmates of the student concerned received a letter from the GGD and a special email address to report any symptoms.
Though a further case was also found this week in a primary school pupil in Stadskanaal, according to a spokeswoman, it is rare for a child to become infected. “Of the 367 infections in Groningen, only 2 or 3 are children. So there are relatively few of them. ”
