The street parade you do not want to miss
Along with all the fun and engaging pastimes that can be found throughout Groningen, the main event of the two-day festivities comes in the shape of the Pride street parade.
The street parade will be held on Saturday on Zwanestraat. It is hosted in collaboration with Café de Prins, one of Groningen’s last gay cafes, along with shopkeepers on the street. The plan is to give the shopping avenue a complete makeover and bring a number of performers for everyone to enjoy.
This year’s parade promises to be like no other with the addition of an extra stage, allowing diverse music tastes to merge as well as making the city feel like they are partying along.
The parade begins at 5 p.m at the Zwanestraat. Other activities begin as early as 8 a.m. Make sure to check out the program and schedule made by Pride Groningen so you can pick and choose how to spend this year’s Pride. You can find the schedule here.
