Schiphol airport announced that some flights may be delayed and even cancelled tomorrow as the Netherlands prepares for strong winds and storms.
Dutch public broadcaster NOS reported that storm Ciarán is expected to mainly effect the evening rush hour traffic due to heavy wind and rain. The storm is expected to reach the Dutch coast tomorrow morning.
The Dutch traffic organisation ANWB recommended that people should consider working remotely from home tomorrow, Thursday 2nd November.
The national weather institute has so far issued a code yellow warning for storm Ciarán, for most of the Netherlands including Friesland. It said winds could reach up to 100 km/h in the evening near coastal areas. Until Wednesday evening, no weather warnings had been issued for Groningen and Drenthe.
