Starting in January, the ponds in the Noorderplantseon in Groningen will be dredged for 20 weeks.

OOG TV reports that the last time the ponds were dredged was in 2002, and the ponds are meant to be dredged once every 15 years.
The commission behind maintaining the park says that a company has been hired to carry out the dredging works.
Residents who live in the vicinity of the park will be invited to an informational evening in December to explain what to expect from the dredging operations.
