The ‘Explosieven Opruimingsdienst Defensie’ (EOD) were called to Groningen on Monday
The investigation into the origin of the hand grenade, which was found on Monday under a car on Paracelsusstraat, is still in progress, says the police in Groningen. As reported by the GIC.
The hand grenade was spotted by two construction workers on Monday morning under a parked car on the Paracelsusstraat in Groningen, with an EOD team despatched to make the grenade safe.
The grenade that was disabled by the EOD is now at the Netherlands Forensic Institute. Research is being conducted at the facility into possible traces and the origin of the hand grenade, according to the police.
