The police had to clear the Noorderplantsoen in Groningen at around 02:00 on Thursday morning. A large group of partygoers were stopping local residents from sleeping, leading to noise complaints. As reported by the GIC.
Police arrived at the scene in several vehicles after several reports from local residents. And discovered a party in full swing, with officers soon stopping music and dispering crowds. Police recorded personal details from large numbers of attendees, but it is not known whether any fines have been issued.
By 03:30 the park had been returned to quiet, but municipal workers will have to clean up the leftover mess.
