RTV Noord reports that four local kids – Charonni, Cherelle, Mariska and Robin – still play the virtual game every day, and they were out searching for the Japanese video game creatures on Wednesday evening.
“It was around 10 p.m. and we had just decided to go home”, Charonni Hofman says, “but then we noticed an old lady coming toward us, and she looked confused.” The kids called the police, who initially told them they would not come around, but when they mentioned that the woman appeared to be injured, the cops came after all. “That’s when we found out that she had been reported missing.”
As if that was not enough adventure for one evening, the four young women also helped French family who had arrived from Schiphol and was trying to get into an apartment building in the Groningen town. The girls stayed with them until someone came to let them in at 11:30.
