Dagblad van het Noorden reports that the online drug store is set to make 23 million euros in profits this year, so the company was looking to expand its office and warehouse space. The company will be moving into the 10,000 square meter space at the former Taxi De Grooth facilities after renovations are completed in May 2019.
The company already employs around 150 people, but in order to achieve their goals of scaling up the business, Droginet expects to hire up to 400 additional employees once they move into the new space.
Jos Mekkering, one of the directors of the company, told the Dagblad that the company is hoping to work closely with the municipality of Oldambt in their recruitment efforts and also intends to hire some staff through social employment facilities. The company is primarily focused on serving as a work experience environment for people at a disadvantage on the job market.
Droginet launched ten years ago and is one of the 100 biggest webshops in the Nehterlands. The company sells 60,000 different drug store products on behalf of pharmacies across the country.
