Both are self-isolating at home
There are two new confirmed cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus in the municipality of Groningen. Both people are now staying at home, in home isolation. They are the third and fourth confirmed cases in the province of Groningen.
GGD Groningen is investigating the source of the infection and with whom these patients have been in contact. Anyone that has had contact with the patients will be approached by the GGD and instructed on what to do, likely self-isolation and monitoring.
The RIVM and the GGD remain alert to new infections and apply the same protocol when new patients are found: isolation, contact investigation and continuous monitoring of a patient’s contacts. “Through these measures we try to reduce the chance that the disease can spread further in Groningen”, says the GGD.
