Not so far from the Randstad now
Hospitals in Drenthe and Groningen, where the COVID-19 outbreak is less severe than the South, have started to receive patients from Brabant. As reported by the Asser Courant.
To relieve the pressure on hospitals in the south of the Netherlands, about 75 patients are to be taken to hospitals in the Northern provinces. The first patients arrived this weekend in various hospitals in Groningen and Drenthe.
The Regional Organ Acute Care (ROAZ) will distribute the patients among the hospitals in the North. This concerns both Corona-positive and Corona-negative patients. The joint ambulance services from Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland will transport the patients.
On Saturday, Treant Zorggroep announced that patients have now been admitted to the Scheper hospital in Emmen. Ten people were admitted to Wilhelmina Hospital Assen and six patients were admitted to UMCG. Patients are also accommodated in the other hospitals in the provinces of Groningen, Drenthe and Friesland.
